Curriculum Vitae

Since February 2015 Research assistant at the Chair of Vocational Education and Training (Prof. Philipp Gonon) at the University of Zurich
Since Fall 2013 Doctoral candidate in the doctoral program „Democracy Studies“ of the National Center of Competence in Research „Challenges to Democracy in the 21st Century“ (NCCR Democracy). Dissertation project on the topic „Democracy, Markets and the Commons“.
2004-2012 Masters (Lizenziat) in Education, Philosophy and Sociology at the University of Zurich. Master thesis on the topic “Freedom and Property” in Political Philosophy. During my studies (2006-2008) I worked as a semester assistant for Prof. Jürgen Oelkers in the Philosophy of Education. Besides my studies, I also worked part-time in a day-care for children (ages 5-12) and during the summer making cheese in the mountains. 
2002-2003 One-year  internship on an organic farm and studies at the Swiss College for Agriculture (SHL) in Zollikofen.
1999-2001 Studies in Philosophy, Anthropology und Religious Studies at McGill University in Montréal, Canada.

Research Interests

Theories of economics, the state and democracy; the relationships between economics, politics and ecology; commons as a possible alternative to the market-state dichotomy; vocational education and training as a commons; economic and democratic education; forms of sustainable and democratic economics.
