Barbara E. Hof is currently writing a dissertation on the history of education and training in the so-called "big science" (1945-1970). Her research interests also include the intersection of cybernetics and educational technology, the cultural history of artificial intelligence, the history of higher education, and epistemology (in particular model theories).
She is a member of the International Standing Conference for the History of Education (ISCHE), the Gesellschaft für Geschichte der Wissenschaften, der Medizin und Technik (GWMT), the UZH Digital Society Initiative, and affiliated researcher of the Digital Agenda
