WoKidS – Children’s well-being in German-speaking Switzerland

WoKidS lettering Map Logo

WoKidS is a research project that investigates the well-being of children living in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. It seeks to understand when, under which conditions and how children experience well-being.

The project aims to answer two main research questions:

  • What do children in Switzerland need to feel good?
  • What do children understand by well-being?

WoKidS is part of the international research network and multinational qualitative study “Children's Understandings of Well-being – Global and Local Contexts” (CUWB). In this network, researchers are investigating how children experience well-being in different parts of the world.

WoKidS pursues two interlinked research goals:

  1. to represent the perspectives of children in German-speaking Switzerland on their well-being and
  2. to promote the comparison of these perspectives with international findings.

The project is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and will take place between September 2021 and September 2024.
