WoKidS – Children’s well-being in German-speaking Switzerland

WoKidS is a research project that investigates the well-being of children living in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. It seeks to understand when, under which conditions and how children experience well-being.
The project aims to answer two main research questions:
- What do children in Switzerland need to feel good?
- What do children understand by well-being?
WoKidS is part of the international research network and multinational qualitative study “Children's Understandings of Well-being – Global and Local Contexts” (CUWB). In this network, researchers are investigating how children experience well-being in different parts of the world.
WoKidS pursues two interlinked research goals:
- to represent the perspectives of children in German-speaking Switzerland on their well-being and
- to promote the comparison of these perspectives with international findings.
The project is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and will take place between September 2021 and September 2024.
