Research at the Chair Educational Science with Focus on Social Pedagogy
We conduct research on childhood, adolescence, family, and the professional handling of social conditions and issues, among other things in the context of social inequalities. We are currently investigating the following research questions:
- What is professionalism in social pedagogy?
- How did social pedagogy emerge historically as a discipline and a profession?
- How are family, parenting, and sibling relationships discussed in academic and political contexts?
- What do children need in order to feel well?
- In what ways do children experience their well-being as socially unequal?
- How have images and conceptions of childhood changed from the past to the present, and what role do social, socio-political and historical structures play in this?
- How can the child be understood as a subject within the tension between education and law, with particular consideration of children's rights and the child's perspective in educational childhood research?
- How can pedagogical attitudes be made visible in the educational process?
