BelLe
BelLe – Supported, self-regulated and lifelong learning
Beginning in the 2024/25 school year, several high schools/grammar schools (Gymnasien) in the canton of Aargau will initiate projects to promote the implementation of self-regulated learning (SRL) as part of the school curriculum. The objective is to enhance students' SRL skills and provide a solid foundation for lifelong learning. The development of SRL skills requires their deliberate integration into subject teaching, alongside active and adaptive support from teachers, who play a central role in this initiative. The scientific monitoring and evaluation of these SRL-based school projects will be conducted using a multi-level approach involving school leaders, teachers, and students, combined with a multi-method analytical approach that includes both qualitative and quantitative methods. This longitudinal (case study) project will offer crucial insights into the conditions necessary for the effective implementation of SRL in schools and the development of these skills in students over their four years of schooling. Additionally, valuable insights into teachers' professional competences in SRL will be gained.
